Do you know what Samaín is?
The word means “end of summer.” It was a Celtic festival that takes place on the night of October 31st. It commemorated the change of season that coincided with the end of the harvest and the beginning of a new cycle. It was believed that during the night of Samain it was easier to move between the world of the living and the dead.
During this night, different plants were collected to make potions that augured a good harvest in the new year that was beginning.
Different rituals were performed such as lighting skulls, filling a bucket of water with apples and fishing them with the mouth or lighting bonfires to scare away the spirits.
This year we wanted to bring all these traditions to our forest and that is why, from October 16th, our cabins and our forest will be enchanted. So that you can live, even more, the magic of the MARÍA MANOELA EXPERIENCE.
We want to create an atmosphere, so that you can enjoy a different stay, you can see our forest illuminated in orange and many skeletons adorning different parts of our accommodation.
If you are interested in learning more about our traditions, we leave you with this publication of The Red Backpack that we find very interesting.
